Hollywood star Jane Russell has died at the age of 89. She passed away at her home in Santa Maria, California after suffering from a respiratory failure. Russell’s rise to fame began when she was discovered by producer Howard Hughes and cast in ‘The Outlaw’ in 1943. Her most famous turn came alongside Marilyn Monroe in ‘Gentleman Prefer Blondes.’ Russell became the American pin-up girl of the 1940s and 1950s, but her acting career faded after that. She continued to work as a model and went on to sing in Broadway musicals and on television. Russell married three times and had three adopted children.
